Cookie policy

Cookies are small files or browser records that help a website remember choices and understand limited usage. Veridia uses a restrained approach.

1. Essential operation

The site uses the cookieChoice record to remember whether a visitor accepted or rejected optional cookies. It lasts 12 months and does not contain medical information.

2. Optional analytics

If consent is provided, limited analytics may record page views, approximate device information and referral paths. The analytics identifier may last up to 13 months and is not used to build a health profile.

3. Consent

Optional analytics is not activated before a visitor chooses Accept. Rejecting optional cookies does not prevent access to editorial pages or the contact form.

4. Browser controls

Most browsers allow cookies to be blocked or deleted. Deleting the choice record may cause the banner to appear again, while blocking essential storage may affect the way the preference is remembered.

5. Third parties

Analytics suppliers, if enabled, process information under their own technical arrangements. Veridia does not permit optional tools to receive the contents of messages sent through the contact form.

6. Retention

Consent records remain for 12 months. Analytics records are configured for limited retention and are reviewed periodically. Server logs are generally kept for 30 days.

7. Lawful basis

Essential storage is used for legitimate site operation. Optional analytics relies on consent, which can be withdrawn by clearing browser storage or contacting Veridia.

8. International processing

Some providers may process information outside the UK. We seek appropriate contractual or adequacy safeguards and limit the data shared.

9. Questions

Questions about cookies can be sent to 78 Elmwood Gardens, Islington, London, N1 1AB or 020 7946 0958. Do not include sensitive medical details.

10. Changes

This policy was reviewed on 5 October 2026. Any change to cookie names, purposes or lifespans will be reflected on this page with a new date.

The preference record is normally named cookieChoice and lasts 12 months. It stores a simple consent status and a date, not the contents of a message, a health interest or a detailed browsing history. A short session identifier may be created by the hosting or form service while a page request is active; it expires when the browsing session ends or within 24 hours.

Where optional measurement is enabled, the analytics service may use a first-party identifier such as veridia_analytics with a lifespan of up to 13 months. It may measure page views, approximate region, device category, referring page and broad interaction events. Veridia does not intentionally combine that identifier with contact-form content or use it to infer a person’s health status.

Consent is recorded because UK privacy rules require a reliable account of a visitor’s choice. You can change your choice by deleting the cookieChoice record and revisiting the site, or by contacting Veridia at 78 Elmwood Gardens, Islington, London, N1 1AB. We aim to respond to privacy and cookie requests within 10 working days.

Hosting, form delivery and analytics suppliers may process limited technical information on Veridia’s instructions. Some processing may occur outside the UK, in which case an adequacy decision or appropriate contractual safeguard will be used. Supplier retention depends on the service, but Veridia asks for deletion or aggregation when the stated purpose ends.

Browser settings can block, delete or isolate cookies. Private browsing, device changes, extensions and network settings can also affect the banner or measurement, so a choice made on one browser may not automatically apply to another. Blocking optional cookies does not prevent access to editorial pages.

Change record: this policy was reviewed on 5 October 2026. The next review will consider browser changes, consent guidance and any new service used by Veridia; material updates will be dated on publication.

The cookie named cookieChoice records whether optional measurement has been accepted, declined or left undecided, and normally lasts 12 months. It does not store the text of a contact message or a medical detail. A hosting or form service may create a temporary session identifier while a request is processed. That identifier normally expires when the session ends or within 24 hours.

If optional analytics is enabled, a first-party identifier such as veridia_analytics may last for up to 13 months. It can support page-view totals, approximate region, device category, referring page and broad interaction events. The information is used in aggregated reports rather than to identify a named reader. Veridia does not intentionally combine that identifier with contact-form content.

Consent is recorded to demonstrate that the relevant choice was respected under UK privacy requirements. You can change your decision by deleting the cookieChoice record and revisiting the site, or by contacting Veridia at 78 Elmwood Gardens, Islington, London, N1 1AB. A browser may keep separate choices for separate profiles or devices. We normally acknowledge a cookie enquiry within five working days and aim to respond within 10 working days.

Hosting, form delivery, security and analytics suppliers may receive limited technical information needed for their stated function. They may process information outside the UK, in which case an adequacy decision or suitable contractual safeguard will be used. Supplier access is limited by account permissions and service instructions. Veridia asks suppliers to delete or aggregate information when the stated purpose ends.

Cookies can be blocked, deleted or isolated through browser controls, but doing so may cause a preference banner to appear again. Private browsing, extensions, device settings and network tools can also affect whether a choice is recognised. Blocking optional cookies does not prevent access to editorial pages. Essential technical functions may still operate because they are needed to deliver the requested page or form.

Change record: this policy was reviewed on 5 October 2026. The review considers browser behaviour, consent guidance and any new service used by Veridia. Material changes will be dated on publication and will explain whether they affect cookie names, purposes or lifespans.
